Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kicks Off Forum
A forum dubbed as “Early Detection–The Key to Cure”, kicked off the Breast Cancer Awareness Month come October. Cancer survivors of the Cancer Fight Foundation and supporters from I Can Serve joined in the forum which was held at the 3C Auditorium in Chong Hua Hospital.
Topics on Early Detection of Breast Cancer, Ultrasound & Mammography of the Breast, Biopsy and Surgical Treatment, Adjuvant Treatment: Chemotheraphy/Hormonal Therapy, Radio Therapy and Post-Treatment Follow-Up, and Nutrition for Cancer Patients were discussed. Doctors and a specialist from the field were among those who gave insights to the participants.
Early Detection of Breast Cancer was tackled by Dr. Stephen Sixto Siguan, Ultrasound & mammography by Dr. Grace Sendrijas-Avila, Biopsy Surgical Treatment by Dr. Manuel Juanillo, Adjuvant Treatment by Dr. Stella Marie Yap and Nutrition for Cancer Patients by Ms. Christine Melody Caylan.
An open forum and fellowship capped the forum. The event was convened by Chong Hua Hospital, a Joint Commission International (JCI) Accredited.
Moderators of the talk were Dr. Zoe Lim and Mary Anne Alcordo-Solomon, who is a breast cancer survivor herself. Watch out for the Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities next month.
