Botika ng Bayan Launches in Naga

The Local Government Unit (LGU) in Naga has launched the “Botika ng Bayan” program at the Vicente Mendiola Center for Health (VMCH) on Monday, November 25.

The City of Naga, in partnership with the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) aims to provide free medicines and health care through the “Botika ng Bayan”.

The said launching was kicked off by a ribbon cutting followed by the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Naga City Acting Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong said that steady coordination between concerned entities will make the program more effective.

Meanwhile, one of Mayor Valdemar Chiong’s (Kristine Chiong’s father) top priority is health. It was their top agenda during and after the recent elections.

Aside from Acting Mayor Kristine Chiong, key people from DOH-CVCHD Regional Head Jaimes Beranads, Cluster Head of Health Facilities and Systems Development Dr. Guy Perez, City Health Officer Regil Kent Villamor were present during the said launching.

“All DOH programs and projects are in the vision of a progressive realization of the provision of our Universal Health Care Law,” said Bernadas.

The “Botika ng Bayan” program will give free medications for patients suffering from infections, asthma, coughs, colds, hypertension and more. (MLC)
