‘Booksan ang Kahibalo’: Donate-a-book drive for Maguikay library
The World Economic Forum Global Shapers Manila Hub, Human Nature Mandaue Branch and Gawad Kalinga with the Library Renewal Partnership are coming together for a book drive for Mandaue City.
Booksan ang Kahibalo is a project that aims to invite Cebuanos to donate books and educational magazines, whether new or slightly used, for a library to be built in Gawad Kalinga Maguikay Village.
Donors are encouraged to separate the books into boxes labeled “Children” for books for ages 3 to 12 years old and “Young Adults” for ages 13 to 21. Chairs, shelves, tables, rubber mats and lamps are most welcome as well.
Aside from books, the organizers also need volunteers to wrap books in plastic cover, to organize them in shelves and to design and paint the library’s walls.
Books and other materials may be dropped off until the month of June at the Human Nature Mandaue Branch at G/F, The Orchard Cebu Hotel & Suite, A.S. Fortuna St., Bakilid, Mandaue City or the Gawad Kalinga Cebu Office at the former DOST complex on the Old Banilad Road.
