Bong Go Aids Cebu Fire Victims

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go distributed relief to 552 families or 1,357 individuals who were left homeless by different fire incidents in Cebu City yesterday, February 25.

Victims from Barangays Luz, T.Padilla, Duljo and Kasambagan are currently using the Mabolo Elementary School as temporary shelter.

“Naa koy dala diri para sa inyuha, naa koy groceries ug cash assistance para man lang maka tabok mo sa inyung gi agian karon,” said Go.

Senator Go also pledged to shoulder the uniform and other school supplies of student victims.

“Kanang mga bata diha, mga studyante ako nay bahala sa inyung mga uniform ug gamit sa skwela,” Go added.

Different concerned agencies like Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Amusement and Gamin Corporation (PAGCOR) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) were also present to provide various assistance.

Senator Go also guaranteed to shoulder the expenses of victims who have serious illnesses that cannot be treated in local hospitals here in Cebu.

“Katong nay mga sakit diha nga dili ma treat diri sa Cebu, ingna lang inyung mga kapitan kay ako nay bahala magpa tambal sa inyuha, gikan sa inyung pliti, puy-anan, pagkaon ug pa opera ako nay bahala ana,” said Go.

Actors Phillip Salvador, Victor Neri and Robin Padilla were also present to bring joy to the victims. (MLC)
