Tagbilaran City, Bohol —The Provincial Government of Bohol inks an agreement with an airline carrier company to partner in a focused marketing campaign in attempts to revitalize the earthquake-affected Bohol tourism.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between Bohol and Air Asia seeks to strengthen Bohol tourism by expanding tourism arrivals through strategic partnerships, product development and promotions to entice a larger market.

During the 118th Birth Anniversary of Bohol’s most illustrious son President Carlos P. Garcia, Governor Edgar Chatto represented Bohol while Atty. Joy Caneba promises to support and partner with Bohol in its tourism action plan and initiative billed as ‘Visit Bohol 2015’.

The commemorative ceremony adopted CPG@118: Filipino First, Boholano above anything else, in reliving one of Garcia’s famous legacies on patronizing local products and shaking off the dreaded colonial mentality that hampers development.

In one of the many strategies Bohol and aiding organizations adopted, this agreement aims to reach target markets through effective promotional and marketing efforts to increase tourist arrivals.

The MOA puts the Provincial Government to adopt and implement ‘Visit Bohol 2015’ by publicizing its launch and inform publics as well as entice target markets to come to Bohol, publicize its partnership with the airline company and include the company logo in its advertising campaigns.

For Air Asia, it binds them to support Bohol’s ‘Visit Bohol 2015’ program by offering special low rates in travel fairs for Bohol delegates.

It also puts the airline company to offer year-round same low fare rates like its offer to other key destinations and pre-inform Bohol on special promotional rates for Bohol and its partners to support it by promotional and marketing activities.

Air Asia also is bound to include ‘Visit Bohol 2015’ in its ad campaigns, Travel Three Sixty magazine and help with partners carry out media familiarization tours to promote Bohol even in its different served destinations.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Madelone Rengel, Cesar Tomas Lopez, Vincenzo Arcamo, Dionisio Balite, DOT undersecretary Benito Bengzon and daughter of a CPG cousin, Marilou Valmoria witnessed the signing rites. (mbcn/RAC/PIA7-Bohol)
