BOC Implements Nationwide Reshuffling
The Bureau of Customs(BOC) has again implemented a nationwide reshuffling of its officers and employees who have no plantilla positions.
Attorney Kern Sesante, BOC-Cebu Chief of Staff, on Monday said that they are ready to comply the order made by Officer in Charge(OIC) Customs Commissioner John Philip Sevilla.
Sesante said that Sevilla’s order has something to do with the implementation of Customs Personnel Order B-134-2013, mandating all custom’s regular employees and all with permanent plantilla position to go back to their original area of assignments.
Earlier, Sevilla has ordered all BOC District Collectors nationwide to implement the head count of all their respective personnel.
However Sesante said there are customs employees assigned here in Cebu who are likely to be retained in their present posts here due to lack of qualified personnel to take over.
He specified that those who are employed at the Mactan Economic Zone(MEZ), whose expertise on import and export processing cannot be duplicated by others, are likely to be retained.
Sesante said that while the reshuffling order is in effect and compulsory, there are still who cannot be affected by this move due to some valid reasons.
