Blaze Brought over 100 Families Homeless
Fire hit Sitio San Roque Basak in Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday dawn rendering more than 100 families homeless as they face the new year.
Authorities said the fire hit the sitio’s inner portion at about 2:25 am Tuesday that spread quickly all over the place. Initial report said no one got injured but the damaged to property was estimated at P540,000, investigators said.
Lapu-Lapu City Fire Station said the blaze quickly spread because the houses were made of light materials.
Firefighters from neighboring towns of Mandaue, Lilo-an and Compostela also help put out the fire which was placed under control at 3:17 am.Investigators are still looking on what caused the fire.
