Blackberry Releases BBM For Android Gingerbread
Last month, Blackberry announced that BBM could soon be making its way onto older Android devices running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. True to their promise, Blackberry has just made its messaging and voice call app available to more Android users, as the company has officially released a new build of BBM that would target Android users running on Android Gingerbread.
This means that Android Gingerbread users will be able to enjoy the immediacy, privacy and control of BBM to chat and share with friends, family and people they work with. And for the existing BBM users, this release means that users can find a larger pool of friends and strangers, using the Find Friends feature.
Based on the latest Android distribution figures, Android Gingerbread devices account for about 21% of the Android market at the moment. This means that at least one fifth of Android users are still using older builds of Android.
