Bicol, Eastern Visayas Rainy Due to LPA
The low pressure area (LPA) spotted off east northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar will continue to bring rains to Eastern Visayas and the Bicol Region in the next few days, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday.
Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flash floods and landslides will be experienced in Bicol and Eastern Visayas.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA added that cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorm is expected in the rest of the Visayas, Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon.
Cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced in the Cordillera Autonomous Region, Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains while Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorm.
PAGASA weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar said the northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon.
Luzon and the Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds while coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, PAGASA said light to moderate winds coming from northeast to northwest will prevail with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) FPV/MCCA/EBP
