Beat the Heat: Tips for Staying Cool at Work
Summer is just around the corner, and you know how hot the days get, especially with a looming El Niño — days would get hotter and hotter.
Sometimes we can’t avoid going outside, especially during work. Whether you are going to meet a client somewhere around the city or just commuting to work, the heat of the sun will eventually get to you.
Navigating the scorching heat can definitely pose a challenge, but fear not! I’m here to share some cooling tips to help you thrive during these hot days and maintain your productivity at work.
Opt For Lightweight Clothing
Only wear breathable clothing during hot days. These fabrics will help you cool down and stay comfortable all day long. Choosing the right outfit will help you last the day.
Use Sunscreen
Basking under the sun can be harmful to your skin, so apply sunscreen before going out under the sun. Sunscreen is not only useful during your beach outings; it can be a lifesaver, or skin saver, on a daily basis.
Drink Lots of Fluids
The heat can dehydrate you pretty quickly, so you need to drink lots of water. Always bring a water bottle with you, carry it wherever you go outside to help you replenish and feel fresh during the day.
Rest When You Feel Tired
If you start feeling overheated or worn out, take a break. Find some shade, grab a cold drink, and give yourself a chance to cool down.
With these simple reminders, you’ll be able to survive the heat and feel fresh during these hot summer days. Stay safe out there! (ASC)
