Bb. Cebu 2020 Graces DSWD Home for Girls’ Love Month Celebration

The Home for Girls (HFG), A DSWD-run center organized the Ms. Feb-ibig 2020 to end the love month with a bang!
“The goal of this activity is not to discriminate one from the other but rather to elicit realization that each one of us are beautiful in our own little way because we are made in the image and likeness of God. Because we are loved by God,” said Ligaya Dael, HFG center head.

The 15 lovely candidates wowed the audience as they sashayed on stage with confidence. The candidates showed their creativity when they wore their handmade gowns made of recycled items such as newspapers, straws, leaves, old curtains, used blankets and others.

Binibining Cebu 2020, Ms. Beatriz Luigi Gomez graced the event as one of the judges of the competition. She thanked DSWD for inviting her.

“As women, we should empower and encourage each other to rise to the occasion. We give love, we teach kindness and we nurture. That is our power, that is our strength and that is what makes us beautiful. And to whom the title Ms. Feb-ibig 2020 may be given may you be a bearer of love and be an inspiration to other girls and women,” Ms. Bea said during her inspirational message.

Together with Ms. Bea Gomez, Kerwin Macopia, Engr. Kevin Gerard Canopin and Randolf Rocamora completed the panel of judges.

The love month celebration is one of the monthly theme festivities prepared by HFG for the residents. The highlights of the monthly activities include giving recognition to outstanding kids in the centers – characters of the month, star awards, everybody’s birthday and culmination that highlight the monthly event.
