Barangay Pardo Gets Mini-Ambulance
A mini-ambulance was given by the Cebu City Government to Barangay Poblacion Pardo which was formally turned-over last August 1, 2013 at the Plaza Sugbu, fronting Cebu City Hall.
In behalf of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, who is now on a one-week official trip in Japan, Mr. Andy Borres, head of the city’s Barangay Affairs Unit, formally gave the Suzuki mini ambulance worth Four Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand pesos (P495,000.00) to Poblacion Pardo Councilor’s Altea Lim and Peter Rago.
In an interview, Councilor Lim revealed that their long wait is over and that it will be of great help for their constituents especially in cases of emergency.
“Dako kaayo ni ug help namo ilabi kung naay dalhon sa hospital ug pasalamat mi ni Mayor Mike Rama nga natuman na gyod ang among gi-request nga ambulance,” Councilor Lim underscored, adding that this will be the 8th vehicle of their barangay as they have already 3 Dump-trucks, 1 Fusion, 1 Adventure, 1 Patrol Car for Barangay Tanods, and 1 reconditioned multicab from the pork barrel of Senator Francis Joseph “Chiz” Guevara Escudero.
For his part, Councilor Rago has shared that they are thankful to Mayor Rama for granting their request and that the mini-ambulance will be for the service of their more than Sixteen thousand constituents from 22 Sitios in their barangay.
Furthermore, the acquisition of the emergency rescue vehicle with plate number SKW 742 was made possible through the efforts of the two village officials who also shared that they will follow the same system with the Basak Pardo Emergency Rescue (BPER) of city Councilor Dave Tumulak.
The city’s share from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) is the source of fund for the project which underwent a public bidding and supplied by the RDAK Transport Equipment Incorporated. (By: Greggy Jiggs P. Senados, PIO Staff)
