Barangay Councilor Gunned at SRP
A Barangay Councilor of Lagtang, Talisay City was gunned down by armed assailants on board a motorcycle at the South Road Properties (SRP), Friday, July 20, 2018.
Newly elected Lagtang barangay councilor, Art Stephen Bas was traversing the SRP road, Sitio Bihonan, Brgy. Cansojong, Talisay City in his white Ford Everest around 8:15 AM when he was directly shot multiple times by an unidentified gunman on board a motorcycle. Bas was driving to school when the shooting happened.
Present at the crime scene were SPO3 Jenny Rosaldo and PO2 Ryl Pangatungan. They found 13 pieces of empty shells in the crime. The empty shells are now in custody of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and subject for ballistic examination.
Councilor Art Stephen Bas was a grandson of Talisay City Councilor Arturo Bas. Art Stephen Bas, 25 years old, is a Mechanical Engineering student from Cebu Institute of Technology – University and is slated to graduate this October 2018.
The motive behind the crime is yet to be established.
