The call to rise after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit provinces Cebu and Bohol, doesn’t simply stop in the part one of #BangonSugBohol fund-raising concert a week ago, as it threw another round of entertainment at SM Northwing Atrium, SM City Cebu last October 26.
A line-up of Cebuano artists and musicians came together and wowed the crowd with their stunning performances of different themes.

Chancellor Candice Gotianuy of UC, who spearheaded the campaign together with UC Director of Communications, Marylou Neri, shared that the concert was simply their way of helping out the earthquake victims of Cebu and Bohol.
“This all started when I offered the resources of UC to the government officials. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) accepted and made us a center for relief operations. We mobilized students and staff – all whom were very enthusiastic to help,” shared Gotianuy.
Mall goers, guests, families and friends of participating organizations gave their all-out support to the fund-raising event by submitting their pledges and donations especially in Bohol where help is utmost needed.
Dozens of sacks of rice, boxes of noodles, canned goods, and bottled water were among the relief items received by volunteers at the onsite donation booths located beside the stage.
Private organizations such as the Uptown JC’s and the Maribago Bluewater Resort collaborated with UC in the distribution of relief goods in Bohol.
The university-wide campaign also garnered the support of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). Melanie Ng of Ng Khai Development Corporation and Marissa Fernan, vice-president of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. were also actively involved in organizing and promoting the concert-for-a-cause.
A week prior, October 20, the first part of the #BangonSugBohol concert was done in The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu. It was able to raise up more than P1 million, while the sequel came up with a resounding P1.7 million.
