Balili Property: Relocation Site For Landslide Victims
Cebu Gov. HIlario Davide III and VIce Gov. Agnes Magdale inspected the controversial Balili property yesterday October 2, 2018 as the property is to be used as relocation site for the Naga Landslide evacuees.
2.7 hectares will serve as a relocation site out of the total 24.7 hectares of the province owned lot. This was conceived after the Mining and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) 7 declared the landslide affected area as a no build zone.
Over 300 evacuated families is to benefit from this relocation site.
The Cebu Provincial Government promised to pass a resolution to authorize the donation of the said land to the City of Naga.
Gov. Davide said he will write a letter to the ombudsman about the donation of the property. Davide also plans to donate the non-submerged part of the property for humanitarian purposes. The provincial government has high hopes that the ombudsman will accept their request.
Mayor Grace Chiong said that the Naga City Government will build houses immediately as soon as the donation is approved. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
