SYNOPSIS: Southwest Monsoon is affecting the Western sections of Northern and Central Luzon. Meanwhile, at 3:00 AM today, Tropical Depression “LUIS” estimated at 430 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (24.2°N, 120.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 40 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving East Northeast at 15 km/h. The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1,205 km East of Basco, Batanes (21.5°N, 133.5°E).
FORECAST: Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds from the Southwest will prevail over Palawan and Occidental Mindoro and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds from the Southwest will prevail over Visayas with slight to moderate seas.
