Approaching Weather Disturbance Now a Cyclone, May Make Landfall in PHL Wednesday
The reported weather disturbance approaching from the east is now a tropical depression and may make landfall in the Philippines Wednesday once it enters the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday, report said.
This was the projection made early Friday by GMA’s Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz. “Isa na pong tropical depression o mahinang bagyo ang namataan nating low-pressure area sa may Pacific Ocean,” Cruz said.
Once the tropical depression enters the PAR, it will be locally codenamed “Domeng”, report said. Cruz reported that there is a chance the tropical depression may make landfall over the Caraga region and over Eastern Visayas. Eastern Visayas region were devastated by super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in November last year.
Cruz said data from The Weather Company showed the tropical depression may enter the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday afternoon. However, he also pointed out there is a chance the tropical depression could still change course while at sea, report said.
“Maaari pang magbago ang galaw ng bagyong ito habang ito ay nasa karagatan at kung ito ay papasok sa PAR (There is still a chance this tropical depression can change course while at sea),” he said.
