Anecdotes: The Ep Launch

The Monastery presents Anecdotes: The Ep Launch of Cebu’s premier Indie Folk band Snubear this June 27, 2015 Saturday at The Monastery.

Snubear was formed in 2013, and consisted of Kim Tiangco (vocals, synths), Martino Olvido (rhythm/lead guitar), Warner Sala (rhythm/lead guitar), Jeremie Lim (bass), and Miguel Saballa (drums/percussion).

The band independently released their first single “Crazy Maddy” through internet media on September 2013.

Indie folk is a music genre that arose in the 1990s from musicians in the indie (independent) rock community influenced by folk and classic country music. Indie folk combines the catchy melodies of indie rock with the acoustical sounds of contemporary folk music. Early artists included Ani DiFranco and Dan Bern. Later artists of note included The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, The Cave Singers, Loch Lomond, Bon Iver, Or, The Whale, Great Lake Swimmers, and Blind Pilot.

The event will also have performances by Deanery, Hey It’s Your Birthday, Madebymachina and Bethany.

The Monastery is at 976 Veteran’s Drive, Lahug Cebu City, Philippines Cebu City. Entrance is free.
