‘Amihan,’ Tail End Of Cold Front Continue To Bring Rains Monday
Tail-end of cold front and northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan” will continue to be the dominant weather system affecting the country that will bring rains in most parts of Luzon on Monday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said the tail-end of a cold front is now affecting the eastern section of Central Luzon while northeast monsoon prevails over Northern Luzon.
For Monday forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Cagayan Valley region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon while cloudy skies with light rains is expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and the rest of Central Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The state-run weather bureau issued a gale warning due to strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon as the sea condition would be moderate to rough in the northern seaboards of Northern Luzon.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are alerted against rough to very rough seas,” it warned.
It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
