AFP Medical Team Deployed in Cebu
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Sunday, June 29 has deployed Taskforce Central that consists of doctors, nurses, and medical aids in Cebu City to help in the efforts against COVID-19.
The Taskforce Central is consists of 9 doctors, 10 nurses, and 13 medical aids. The team underwent swab-testing before heading to Cebu City.
In an article from Philippine News Agency, AFP vice chief-of-staff Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr. said he is proud of his team for stepping up in this important undertaking.
“We are proud of this team for stepping up in this dangerous but very important mission. This is what it means to be a soldier and we know more than anyone that no danger of disease will stop us from accomplishing our mission,” Collado said.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, National Task Force on COVID-19 Chief Implementer who is also in the send-off ceremony expressed his thanks to the brave men and women of Taskforce Central.
“I am grateful to all of you for answering this call to help our health workers who are in the frontlines against the pandemic in Cebu. We know this is difficult but your dedication, strength, and bravery will boost the morale of your fellow health workers,” Galvez said.
The AFP had already deployed 405 medical personnel nationwide and over 1,500 doctors, nurses, and military medical auxiliary are also deployed in military treatment facilities all over the country. (ASC)
