Adidas Announces Smart Watch for Runners
Adidas, the big shoe brand announced on Wednesday their smartwatch for runners.
Paul Gaudio, VP of Adidas’ Interactive division, detailed it during the GigaOM Mobilize conference in San Francisco. The latest device will help users keep track of their heart rate and provide training assistance through its screen, vibration, or via Bluetooth headphones.
The watch will cost about $399 and go on sale starting Nov. 1, according to Geek Wire.
Meanwhile, the Adidas news comes one day after competitor Nike announced its next-generation fitness tracking wristband, the Nike+ Fuelband SE ($250). But Gaudio said that Adidas isn’t interested in competing with all smartwatches, Geek Wire reported.
“We’re not trying to make the best smartwatch,” he told attendees. “We’re trying to make the best running watch.”
