Additional Families Receive SAP 1st Tranche

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to conduct payout for the poor families who were not able to receive the emergency subsidy of the Social Amelioration Program during the first tranche.

There are now a total of 5,214 left-out families who have received the SAP emergency subsidy with a total of P 31.2 million after the payout conducted by the DSWD-7 to the 37 barangays in Cebu City on June 13.

These barangays were Agsungot, Apas, Babag, Binaliw, Bonbon, Budlaan, Buhisan, Buot, Capitol Site, Cogon Ramos, Ermita, Guadalupe, Guba, Labangon, Lahug, Lorerga, Lusaran, Mabini, Mabolo, Malubog, Mambaling, Pasil, Pit-Os, Pob.Pardo, Pulangbato, Pung-ol, Quiot, San Jose, San Roque, Sapangdaku, Sinsin, Sirao, Suba, Sudlon I, Sudlon II, Tisa, and Toong.

Barangay Health Worker (BHW) in Barangay Budlaan Justine Jor shared that they were all elated when they found out that there will be payout for the waitlisted.

Jor said that in their barangay, each of their 12 BHW had their own specific area/s to help identify those potential beneficiaries for the Social Amelioration Program.

One of the beneficiaries, Juanito Ravina from barangay Buhisan expressed his joy as the DSWD-7 staff visited him to deliver the Php 6,000 emergency cash subsidy.

“Nalipay ko nga nakadawat ko ani, gamit kaayo kini ipalit og bugas ug tambal nako,” Miguela Migabon from Barangay Quiot shared how grateful she is for the assistance.

The left-out/waitlisted beneficiaries observed physical distancing assisted by the city and barangay staff, volunteers and the Philippine National Police officer while waiting for their turn to receive the emergency subsidy.

DSWD-7 Regional Director Rebecca P. Geamala together with Promotive Services Division Chief Aileen Cuevas thanked PNP Captain Francis Talosig and his team for assisting the DSWD-7 personnel and the beneficiaries by maintaining peace and order during the payout of SAP’s emergency subsidy in Barangay Mambaling.

There are also some barangays in the City that installed a helpdesk manned by DSWD personnel for complaints and queries.

In the previous weeks, DWSD staff went to towns of Alegria, Argao, Badian, Boljoon, Catmon, Compostela, Consolacion, Ginatilan, Liloan, Medellin, Moalboal, Oslob, and Ronda in the province of Cebu to provide the left-out families with emergency subsidy.

Meanwhile, the DSWD is still verifying and cleaning the list of beneficiaries to avoid duplication for the second tranche.
