Acer Introduces New Laptops And AIO Desktop System
Acer on Tuesday unveiled several new computing devices at a press event in New York City. These new devices are – the Acer Aspire Switch 10, the Acer Aspire U5, the Acer C720P Chromebook, and the Acer Aspire E11.
Starting with the Aspire Switch 10, the device is a convertible laptop which means that it has the ability to switch from being a laptop to a tablet, simply by detaching the display and using it as a tablet. The display of the device can also be reverse-attached to the keyboard dock, thus transforming the dock into a stand. The device will sport an Intel Atom quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, a 64GB SSD (500GB mechanical HDD is optional), and a 10-inch HD display that uses IPS technology.
Acer Aspire U5
Next up is the Aspire U5, an all-in-one desktop system. The Aspire U5 will feature a 20-inch Full HD display and comes with a LayFlat design, which basically means that the device has the ability to lie down flat, thus transforming it into a huge touchscreen display. It will sport a fourth-gen Intel Core processor with NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.
Then there is also the C720P which is Acer’s Chromebook device. The chassis of the C720P will remain the same as its predecessor but will be getting an upgrade in processor to an Intel Core i3.
Acer Aspire E11
Lastly, the Acer Aspire E11. This laptop will come in a variety of sizes ranging from 11-inches up to 15-inches, with users being able to choose between HD and Full HD displays with glare or anti-glare finish. The E11 series will also come with quad-core Intel Pentium or Celeron processors, a thin profile with a fanless cooling design and will offer a battery life of up to 7 hours, and will come in a variety of different colors.
The Aspire E11 series will start at $299 and is expected to be made available in June. As for the Aspire Switch 10, it will be priced at $379 and will go on sale in May, while the Aspire U5 will be available in June for $999.
