Abellana Precinct Suffers PCOS Glitch
At 9:14 a.m. a Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine had a start up failure which lead to the
malfunction of the ballot entry slot in cluster 207 at Abellana national high school.
The malfunction lasted for about 50 minutes, but it didn’t stop the casting of votes. Instead, voting continues in which the shaded ballots were covered and placed beside the PCOS machine. The said ballot would be fed after the trouble is restored.
Marijun Orion, cluster 207 Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) said that they will not suspend the casting of votes since time is precious during elections.
There are 52 additional back-up PCOS machines for the Cebu province in case a precinct PCOS machine bugs down.
