A Singapore-like City: Cebu City to Implement “Oplan Disiplina” on October 1
Cebu City ramping up its efforts in making the city more “Singapore-like” as it announced the date of the implementation of “Oplan Disiplina”.
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) announced that “Oplan Disiplina” will start its implementation on October 1.
Oplan Disiplina aims to discipline Cebuanos to make Cebu City “Singapore-like”.
Individuals who spit, smoke, litter, urinate, and loiter shirtless in public areas will be apprehended.
Violators of “Oplan Disiplina” or City Ordinance 1361 will be fined and possibly face detention according to CCPO Deputy City Director for Operations Police Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla.
First-time offenders will pay a fine of P500 or face community service.
Meanwhile, recurrent violators will pay a P1,000 to P5,000 fine or will face 1 to 6 months of jail time.
CCPO added that the implementation of the said city ordinance will apply even in the different sitios in the city. (ASC)
