A Pasta Healthy Alternative–Vegetarian Spaghetti Carbonara
If you’re craving for that spaghetti carbonara you’ve always loved but is afraid of the extra pound it will add into your weight, don’t worry for there’s a pasta healthy alternative for it—vegetarian!
Below is the preparation instructions and ingredients that go along with it. Enjoy and have some delightful, healthy vegan pasta treat.

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 1 pkg Spaghetti (you can use gluten a free brand)
- 1 cup Pasta Water
- 2 cups Frozen Peas
- 1 Shallot (minced)
- 1 Egg Yolk
- ½ cup Smoked Gouda cheese
- 1 tablespoon Parsley
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil
- Add the pasta and cook until al dente
- In the last minute of cooking add the peas
- Before draining reserve 1 cup of the pasta water
- In a large bowl add the shallot, egg yolk, cheese, and parsley – mix it up
- Add the drained pasta to the bowl with the egg and cheese
- Add ½ cup of the pasta water, toss well
- Add more water if needed to thin out
- Season well with salt and pepper
- 10. Serve!
