Comelec-Maguindanao Promotes ‘Pasok, Pila, Boto, Uwi’ Steps in Midterm Polls
The Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Maguindanao urged voters to follow the four steps: pasok (enter), pila (line), boto (vote), uwi (exit) rules in the midterm polls on May 13, 2019.
Comelec-Maguindanao Provincial Supervisor Atty. Ernie Palanan, during the recent press briefing held here, stressed that the four simple steps would be of great help to have a peaceful and orderly conduct of election.
“To avoid unnecessary events during the election day, let’s just follow these simple steps, (pasok, pila, boto, uwi) upon entering the school building, you are not required to present ID. Next, fall in line in your respective precinct then go to the poll clerk for the Voters Registration Verification Machine (VRVM),” he said.
Atty. Palanan also said the security plan is already in place to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
“There will be security forces in every precinct to ensure the safety of voters. There will be one ground commander per school, along with the PNP and the military. If there would be some unnecessary events it’s the responsibility of the ground commander along with the supervisor and the principal in charge in the school,” he said.
He also mentioned individuals who are not allowed to stay inside the polling place, and that includes all barangay elected/ appointed officials, candidates, and the voters who already cast their votes with indelible ink.
“If you have already casted your votes, you are not allowed to enter the school anymore. Let’s show that we are disciplined to have a credible and peaceful election,” Palanan noted.
He also assured voters that the Voting Counting Machine (VCM) is working well and had already been tested by the poll body.
Meanwhile, Comelec Election Officer II Mary Anne Marohombsar said the VCM is designed to scan ballots and interpret the voter’s shaded mark, tabulate each mark, and generate reports. (PIA Cotabato City)
