Capitol Sinulog Float Highlights Countryside Development
After incorporating the development in mainland Cebu in its Sinulog float design the previous years, the Cebu Provincial Government this time showcased countryside development, particularly those in the islands, in its float entry for the 2019 Sinulog Grand Parade celebration last Sunday, Jan. 20.
Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale, together with other Capitol officials, department heads and some employees, led the Capitol contingent for its grand entrance at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
The respective families of the governor and the vice governor also joined the Capitol officials in the grand parade.
Carrying the theme, “Kalambuan Midagayday sa Kaislahan,” the Capitol float toured the parade route before it entered the Sinulog grandstand inside the CCSC.
The float flaunted the Bukilat Cave in Camotes Island, thresher sharks in Malapascua, coral gardens in Pescador and Gilutongan islands, White Sand Beach in Bantayan Island and more inspirations from other islands such as Gibitngil, Kinatarcan, Zaragosa and Carnaza. At the top of them all is the Sñr. Sto. Niño who oversees to guide and protect everyone in the islands.
Dancing before the thousands of audience as a guest performer, the Capitol contingent composed of 67 Provincial Government employees showed their devotion and gratitude to the Holy Child under the Sinulog-based category.
Liahona “Lianne” Llesol of the Provincial Information Office served as the contingent’s queen.
Joining the Sinulog Grand Parade and dancing as a guest performer has become a tradition of the Davide-Magpale administration as the Capitol’s way of thanking the Sto. Niño. (Cebu Provincial Government)
