Southern Islands Hospital School of Nursing to Hold Its Grand Alumni Homecoming
The Southern Islands Hospital School of Nursing, the first nursing school outside Metro Manila will hold its Grand Alumni Homecoming on 27 January 2019. The 71st celebration which carries the theme “SIHSNAAI – Strong as Ever: Facing a Century of Global Challenges” will be opened with a Holy Eucharistic celebration at 8:00 a.m. at the Alumni Center, Osmena Blvd., Cebu City. Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Cebu, Most Rev. Emilio L. Bataclan, D.D. will serve as mass presider and homilist. This will be followed by a business meeting where the President, Mrs. Gloria Jane Laurente-Matiga and the Treasurer, Dr. Marylou Belarmino-Ong will deliver their respective reports.
The main event will happen at 4:00 p.m. on 27 January 2019 at the Casino Espanol de Cebu, Ranudo St., Cebu City. The celebration will be highlighted with the recognition of exemplary graduates who excelled in their chosen fields either in the field of nursing education, nursing service, research, public health and governance. The Jubilarians will also be recognized. Class 1959 will be this year’s diamond jubilarian, Class 1964 as emerald, Class 1969 as gold, Class 1974 as sapphire, Class 1979 as ruby and Class 1984 as coral.
The association officers through the Overall Homecoming Chair, Mrs. Edith Rose Ragay-Santos is inviting all SIH graduates to come and join and have fun. This event is an opportune time to see former classmates and teachers, rekindle the memories of student life, reconnect with old friends and/or establish new contacts all over globe.
