Balamban, Liloan Rule Provincial Meet
Balamban failed to replicate a sweep of the Provincial Meet titles after Liloan topped the elementary division in the week-long tournament, which ended last Friday in Carmen town, northern Cebu.
Despite the setback, Balamban still managed to defend the overall crown with a total medal haul of 72 gold, 48 silver, and 20 bronze (g-s-b) medals.
The town retained its secondary title with 54-30-8 (g-s-b), while it finished third in the elementary with 18-18-12.
Liloan harvested 25-18-23 to rule the elementary competition followed by Dalaguete 21-5-5. The fourth spot went to Consolacion with 16-10-16 and Compostela landed fifth with 15-14-12.
Completing the top five winners in the secondary were Daan Bantayan (25-15-16), Liloan (21-14-22), Compostela (14-17-5), Badian (14-16-11).
The winners of the tournament will make up the Cebu Province team for the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet set in February in Dumaguete City.
