Power Firm Assists 20 Ifugao Schools
Twenty schools in the province are set to benefit from the financial assistance provided by SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) Magat, Inc.
Joseph Yu, President and Chief Executive Officer of SNAP-Magat, Inc., turned over a check in the amount of P1.48 million to Governor Pedro Mayam- o for the construction of school water systems and improvement of facilities.
These recipient elementary and high schools are located in the municipalities of Aguinaldo, Alfonso, Asipulo, Hingyon, Hungduan, Lagawe, Lamut, Mayoyao and Tinoc.
Under the agreement, SNAP-Magat, Inc. shall cause its Site Management to inspect or monitor the utilization of the fund that is in accordance with terms and conditions and the purpose and intent of it.
The provincial local government will also allow the power firm to access all pertinent original records, documents and books in support of the disbursement of funds pertaining to the implementation of said project.
The PLGU, which requested the financial assistance through a project proposal, will shoulder any excess of cost due to underestimation or price escalation on the implementation of the project.
Part of SNAP-Magat’s corporate social responsibility is to assist public schools to have conducive learning environment and safe drinking water. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
