Mandaue: Rabies-Free in 2016

The Mandaue City Veterinary Office has put at least 100 stray dogs to lethal injection since February this year.

City Vet Daisy Penetrante said these dogs were not claimed by owners after they had been impounded from the streets. And instead of subjecting them to the poison of gas chamber, they inject the dogs with chemicals to put them to sleep, and die afterwards.

Penetrante said the campaign against stray dogs continues as the city is targeting to become rabies-free by 2016.
