YesPH Works for Food Discount for Working Studes
Actor and YesPH Ambasador Jose Sixto Dantes III, famously known as “Dingdong Dantes,” in his Roadshow activity in the city, urged local officials to adopt Pasay City’s ordinance on giving food discount for working students.
Dantes said their proposal is to provide 10 percent discount for working students but the City Government of Pasay is giving 20 percent discount.
He said this is proposed by the YesPH Community Development Inc., a movement, which has been in existence for almost nine years, which aims to help empower the young, help the youth finish a degree and find decent job and right income.
Dantes cited one study, which showed that 1 of every 4 students in the country are working while studying and the ordinance is of big help to working students.
Aside from giving them discounts, Dantes said the organization is always looking into the health benefits of every working student to help them cope with poverty, stress, and mental problems, among others.
The Ambassador said he is eyeing for LGUs to adopt the ordinance as he is willing to give a copy of the measure.
Meanwhile, Tuguegarao City Councilor Jude Bayona said they will file a resolution to adopt the said ordinance. (MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
