PDRRMO Holds 3-Day 4th Emergency Responders Congress
Emergency response teams will soon be helping law enforcers in responding to actual shooting incidents, said Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Baltazar Tribunalo.
“So we need inputs from the PNP (Philippine National Police) and AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines),” he said.
Tribunalo said that this and other plans will be discussed in the PDRRMO’s 4th Emergency Responders Congress, which will start today, Aug. 29, up to Aug. 31 at the Camp Lapulapu in Barangay Apas, Cebu City.
This three-day activity is part of Cebu Province’s 449th founding anniversary celebration, he said.
During the gathering, uniformed and civilian responders will discuss inter-operability or coordinated operation of various groups from different government line agencies.
The three-day activity will be participated in by emergency responders from AFP, PNP, Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, the academe and 51 Cebu local government units (LGUs), said Tribunalo.
He said the activity will serve as an equipment expo as suppliers and dealers of emergency equipment were also invited.
“Dili lang ang kahibalo ang atong itudlo, ang pagamit sa mga ekipo,” said Tribunalo.
Environment protection, climate change and disaster risk management is one of the Six-Key Agenda of the administration of Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale.
Holding trainings and meetings of all emergency responders for their inter-operability is part of the Province’s commitments to keep its constituents safe from natural and man-made disasters.
The other Five-Key Development Agenda are health and social services; countryside development; education and technical vocational training; infrastructure development, tourism and investment promotion; and law and order. (CEBU PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT)
