China Donates New Ambulance to Oslob
The Peoples Republic of China (PROC-Cebu) turned over recently a brand new ambulance to the Municipality of Oslob.
Consul General Shi Yung led the turn over of the ambulance which reportedly cost P1.5 million.
It was received by Oslob Mayor Jose Tumulak in the presence of the department heads and barangay captains.
Yung said the gesture is an exhibit of the friendship from the Chinese people to the Philippine people.
He said he believes that the friendly relations will be moving forward with more progress.
“Today, I am very glad to hand over an ambulance from China to the Oslob municipality. I wish this ambulance will help improve the medical treatment level and benefit the people of Oslob,” Yung said.
Yung said they already had coordinated with Oslob over concerns on the safety of the Chinese tourists.
“Cooperation programs between our consulate and Oslob, like putting up warning signs and direction boards in Chinese language, have reduced incidents sharply. These successful programs set a solid foundation for our long term cooperation,” the Consul General said.
Last year, 430,000 Chinese tourists visited Region 7, which according to Yung, was four times the statistics in 2015.
This, he said, was after China and the Philippines resumed its long friendship and entered into a golden period of rapid development.
For his part, Mayor Tumulak said the Municipality is grateful to be the first recipient of the ambulance from China.
“It will surely strengthen our emergency responding capability and we hope that this won’t be the last,” Tumulak said.
Since the Consulate Office had helped in putting up Chinese signages in the different areas of Oslob, there was lesser incidence of accidents.
Since 2016 the two countries have constantly deepened political mutual trust, mutual respect and comprehensively conducted cooperation in various fields.
