SK Officials Told: Be Active, Vocal, and Mature

Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) federation officials of Bacolod City are expected to be mature, active, participative, and vocal in performing their duties and responsibilities.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, during the mandatory training for SK officers, said “We could be one of the very few countries in the whole world that has the SK as an institution. This is a big privilege and opportunity. You could be part of our transition process.”

Leonardia, who also inducted the newly-elected officials, told them to refute the mistaken impression that SK had allegedly become a training ground for corruption.

The newly-elected SK federation officers are: Ayesha Joy Villaflor (Brgy. 6)—president; Julia Marie Rile (Brgy. 2)—vice president; Fercy Lyn Almaiz (Brgy. Mansilingan)—secretary; Reymar Berja (Brgy. Alijis)—treasurer; Danna Michaela Perma (Brgy. Singcang-Airport)—auditor; Shaine Jezreel Solidum (Brgy. Villamonte)—PRO; and Jericho Malagsic (Brgy. Handumanan)—sergeant-at-arms.

The City Mayor also mentioned that he would like to see more SK activities where these officials could take part in barangay sessions.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City SK federation president Villaflor told the youth of the need to uphold the welfare of today’s generation to be able to empower the future generation.

“My fellow young leaders of Bacolod, let us take this opportunity together with our minds and hearts to be the voice of the youth in the City of Bacolod,” Villaflor said. (LTP/LML-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
