Call for Nomination for the CCCI 2018 Grand Chamber Awards

In respect and appreciation of the outstanding entrepreneurs who have invaluably contributed to the growth and economic development of Cebu, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (CCCI) observes the Grand Chamber Awards (GCA) and Fellowship Night every June during the celebration of the Cebu Business Month.

The GCA and Fellowship Night is an annual recognition of exemplary Cebuano individuals, entrepreneurs and families who have exhibited admirable performance in their fields of business and employed ethical practices that reflect the ideal example of a Cebuano entrepreneur. This event is also an opportune time for business leaders and stakeholders from various industries to foster closer ties and partnerships.

As a culminating activity of the Cebu Business Month 2018, the Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night will be on June 29, 2018 at Oakridge Pavillion.

There will be seven (7) awards conferred – Entrepreneur of the Year, Small Business Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur, Countryside Entrepreneur, Socially Responsible Entrepreneur, Innovative Entrepreneur and Inspiring Woman Entrepreneur.

Nominees for each category must have the following qualifications:

Entrepreneur of the Year – This award recognizes vital contributions of leaders and catalysts of change who built and sustained excellent business in operation for at least ten (10) years as of December 2017. The noteworthy success of the enterprise serves as a testament to the significant contribution to Cebu’s vibrant economy.

Small Business Entrepreneur – This award recognizes an entrepreneur with a small business having a capitalization of Php 3M to Php 15M, and has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments. The company must have been in operation for at least three (3) years as of December 2017.

Young Entrepreneur – This award recognizes an entrepreneur, less than 35 years old, who has demonstrated exceptional acumen and outstanding accomplishments in his field of business. The company must have been in operation for at least five (5) years as of December 2017.

Countryside Entrepreneur – This award recognizes an entrepreneur, doing business outside Metro Cebu (towns beyond Danao City in north Cebu, and Carcar City in south Cebu), who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in his/her own field of business growth in the area where his business is located. The company must have been in operation for at least five (5) years as of December 2017.

Socially Responsible Entrepreneur – This award recognizes an entrepreneur, who also significantly addresses a specific social problem with a defined social impact aside from doing a successful business. The entrepreneur invests to deal with the needs of the society, i.e., people and planet, while making profit and embeds resilience and sustained development not only in core of his/her business operations but also in the value chain to which his/her enterprise belongs. The company must be in the industry for at least five (5) years.

There are two (2) awards added this year: the Innovative Entrepreneur and Inspiring Woman Entrepreneur.

Nominees must be the owner of manager of a private or a publicly listed company and is primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company. He or she must be an active member of top management for a company that has been in operation for at least five (5) years.

Most importantly, the nominee must possess integrity in the area of business competition, practices social responsibility, demonstrates leadership, perseverance in the face of adversity and, lastly, showcases exceptional track record based on the company/business’ current financial performance.

Nominations are open to CCCI members and non-members. Self-nomination is encouraged.
