Capitol Turnover Scheduled Today
Outgoing Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is scheduled to turnover the management of Capitol to Governor-elect Hilario Davide III today.
Early this week Garcia, days after she came back after her six-month suspension, met with Davide in her office for the first time to give him a tour of his working place in the next three years. The two may have be from competing political parties, but a few weeks before Davide assumes office, the latter had asked Garcia, a three-term governor, to help him in the transition process. Garcia is also expected to reveal to Davide the financial standing of the province.
Davide, who takes over as governor on July 1, will take his oath of office on Sunday. He is also expected to give his agenda as the new governor of Cebu. Davide is said to renovate GWen’s old office, but while the repair is on going he will hold temporary office at the old session hall.
