One Dead in Intel Operation

A person was shot to death in an alleged shootout with police on Sitio Manga, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City at 10 pm. Wednesday.

Authorities identified the fatality as James Flores, 27, of D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City. The shooting happened while members of the Cebu City Intelligence Branch were conducting a follow-up operation against the accomplice to the killing of PO2 Gerlito Estremos. When confronted by police, Flores allegedly drew his .45 caliber pistol, hence he was shot by S/Insp. Keith Andaya and PO3 David Taraja.

Estremos was allegedly mauled and shot to death on June 8 in P. del Rosario st. while he was trying to run after the thieves who stole his motorcycle helmet.
