PYC to Maximize Capitol Funds for Youth Development Plan
The Cebu Provincial Youth Commission (PYC) gathered 200 youth groups all over Cebu province during the consultative meeting on Friday last week as Capitol gears up for its Youth Development Plan (YDP).
PYC chairman Miguel Magpale said the coordinative meeting aims to gather relevant data from various youth group in order to craft a responsive development plan that would serve as a guide in policy formulation and program development for all young people in the province.
Magpale, 5th district board member, added that the assembly also wants to impart among the delegates how to make the most of its funds.
PYC member James Canoy said the congress gathered for the first time representatives from different districts to formulate the Youth Development Plan (YDP) for the province.
Each district has six elected representatives composed of six different sub-sectors of the youth such as the working youth, community-based sub-sector, youth with special needs, religious sector, out-of-school and in-school youth.
Canoy said PYC emphasized the importance of organizing this consultative meeting which gathers data from different youth groups to maximize the funds that the province would be providing for them.
“Sila jud ang kahibaw na unsa ila kailangan gud, basin ma-sayang ang resources na atong ihatag nila,” he said.
Magpale said that other programs are in store for PYC but need youth groups’ coordination to make it successful.
“Let’s continue to support each other, let’s hold hands and we are here for you,” Magpale said.
The PYC, created in 2014, is mandated to formulate and recommend policies, coordination and implementation of youth development programs, projects and activities in the province.
It is considered the highest coordinating and policy-making body for the youth sector in Cebu province.
