Capitol, VP Robredo to Present LGU Projects in Anti-Poverty Summit
Vice President Leni Robredo will be in Cebu today, March 3, to lead the launching of Angat Buhay-Cebu summit in Casino Español, Cebu City.
In an interview with reporters, Vice Presidential liason officer for Cebu Gabriel Cruz said that VP Robredo, together with Cebu Province, will help present LGUs’ projects before the multi-national companies in Manila and Cebu.
The summit aims to bridge the initial list of LGUs with private companies and organizations that can fund their projects.
In today’s launching, 15 LGUs are lined up to present their project proposals before local companies.
With this initiative, Cruz said, VP Robredo seeks to link LGUs with various stakeholders to address specific poverty-related issues.
Just last year, international aid agencies such as the European Union, United Nations and World Food Program expressed support for VP Robredo’s poverty advocacy program.
Angat Buhay, an anti-poverty program of the Office of the Vice President, aims to address the issues on poverty by establishing partnerships with LGUs, national agencies, private sectors as well as international and local donors.
Later in the afternoon, VP Robredo will also attend the launching of “Istorya ng Pag-asa” program in Cebu Capitol Social Hall. (JMB)
