Murder Raps for Ducayag Suspects
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI 7) yesterday charged the three workers of a shopping mall who were alleged in the killing Mario Alfie Ducayag last April 12.
NBI 7 charged Metro Gaisano’s former chief security officer Mauricio Doblados Jr., former security camera operator Jeffrey Aquino, and former house detective Melvin Boyles for murder before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office. The three were tagged for the death of Ducayag, who was alleged to have shoplift a pair of sandals on April 12. Allegedly during the interrogation inside one of the mall’s quarters, they mauled Ducayag, which resulted to his death.
Last month, Ducayag’s mother Fe Soledad charged Dr. Nestor Sator, medico-legal officer of PNP, for obstruction of justice and for violation of Article 174(1) of the Revised Penal Code for issuing a false medical certificate or falsification of public document. Fe Soledad believed Sator, who utopsied the body of Ducayag, provided a wrong information, in which it concluded that her son did not die from the alleged mauling incident. It was from this findings when the NBI stepped in and conducted its own investigation, and revealed that there was possible foul play in Ducayag’s death.
