TD ‘Marce’ Destroys 60 Fishing Boats in Iloilo
Big waves brought about by typhoon ‘Marce’ have damaged 60 fishing boats in northern Iloilo, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Iloilo commander Ramil Palabrica said that eight boats were destroyed in the municipality of Carles, 46 in Estancia and six in Concepcion.
Palabrica said that the amount of damages is still yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, trips from Iloilo to Bacolod, Cebu, Palawan and Manila are still suspended.
However, trips from Guimaras to Iloilo and vice versa resumed at 2 p.m. Friday since the typhoon warning has been reduced to signal number 1.
However, Palabrica said that only 75 percent of the total passenger capacity is allowed and trips will only be until 6 p.m. today.
On the other hand, a landslide incident was reported in Barangay Quipot, Janiuay, Iloilo this afternoon.
According to Joseph Paul Nogra, chief of operations, office of civil defense (OCD) 6, one house was destroyed without casualty.
Reports from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Janiuay revealed that the house is near the river. The affected family is now staying at relatives’ house.
OCD is still verifying further details of the incident.
