30 Irrigators Undergo Lowland Rice Technology Training
San Mateo, Isabela — At least 30 officials of irrigators association from the region have undergone a two-day training on lowland rice production for farmer leaders conducted by Philippine Rice Research Institute (PHILRICE) – Isabela in coordination with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) – 2.
PhilRice – Isabela officer-in-charge Helan Pasicolan said the training aims to update the knowledge of irrigators on the latest rice technology to increase their yield.
She said irrigators association are partners for increasing rice production as most of the officers are farmers in their respective areas.
“We want you to provide the updates on the latest rice technology to increase your yield as contributors to the government’s rice self-sufficiency program,” Pasicolan said.
The farmers were provided the knowledge and updates on how to increase their yields using the technologies provided by Philrice. They also underwent hands-on activities at the demonstration farm inside the Philrice station. (PNA) JMC/SCD/MGEDALE
