US Recalls Half Million Hoverboards
The United States announced that 500,000 hoverboards will be recalled for its battery issues that when overheat, will erupt into flames.
There are already 99 incidents of this said situation, damaging and injuring the user of the hoverboard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the lithium-ion battery packs in hoverboards, which rocketed in popularity last year, can overheat, risking them catching fire or even exploding.
“Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled products and contact the recalling company to return their hoverboard for a full refund, a free repair, or a free replacement depending on the model,” the agency said in a statement.
