Cebu’s Public Elementary, High Schools to Hold ‘Brigada Eskwela’ on Monday
Public elementary schools and national high schools all over Cebu province will hold the “Brigada Eskwela” on Monday, May 30, in preparation for the start of classes on June 13.
Department of Education (DepEd) Cebu Provincial Schools Superintendent Dr. Rhea Mar Angtud said the week-long activity will be participated in by the students and their parents.
Nenita G. Jaralve, Division and Brigada coordinator, said the activity will focus on cleaning the classrooms in all schools in the province.
Jaralve said the activity, which is voluntary, will prevent hassles in the opening of classes for the teachers and the students as their classrooms will then be ready.
DepEd also instructed the different school heads to be ready for any disaster, as La Niña is expected in October.
DepEd has deployed people who will monitor the activities that school heads are supposed to do and see to it that these will be implemented.
School heads are also instructed to conduct an earthquake drill.
The division personnel are divided into clusters to monitor the schools. (PNA) SCS/EB/SSC
