Department of Agriculture (DA), through its Agribusiness Marketing and Assistance Division, recently spearheaded a training-workshop for recipients of the Rice Processing Centers (RPCs) in Central Luzon.

The training aims to provide the beneficiaries with the necessary knowledge and skills to help them improve the operation system of the RPCs.

“I think this the first time that the government provided a huge project for the cooperatives, so I hope that the recipients will continue to take care of the facilities,” DA Regional Technical Director Crispulo Bautista said.

Topics discussed during the activity include the current status of the rice industry in the region and the marketing and planning concept as essential aspects of RPC operation.

Aside from this, DA also awarded various farm equipment including milling facilities and mechanical dryers to help farmers reduce post-harvest losses and improve the quality of Philippine Rice. (CLJD/MJLS-PIA 3)
