Cebu Prelate Celebrates Misa de Gallo in Mountain Village in South Cebu Town
Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma Wednesday dawn celebrated the first of the traditional nine dawn masses, known as “Misa de Gallo,” in the mountain barangay of Manlapay in Dalaguete town, some 90 kilometers south of Cebu City.
Palma celebrated the first dawn mass at the newly constructed Church of Our Lady of Consolation in Barangay Manlapay, which is about two hours from Dalaguete’s town center.
This was the second time Palma celebrated a dawn mass in the barangay.
Palma will celebrate Misa de Gallo on Thursday at the St. John Paul II House for Priests in the Archdiocesan seminary in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
On Friday, Palma will celebrate the dawn mass at the Archbishop’s Residence on D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.
He will also celebrate the dawn mass at the oratory of the Cebu Catholic Television Network (CCTN) in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City on Dec. 21, Monday.
He will travel to Medellin town in northern Cebu on Dec. 23 to celebrate Misa de Gallo there.
Palma will celebrate his last dawn mass at the Santa Rosa Parish in Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City.
Palma has no schedule for dawn masses on Dec. 19, 20 and 22.
In the evening of Dec. 24, Palma will celebrate Christmas Mass at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in Cebu City. (PNA) FPV/EB/EDS
