PhilHealth Reps to Conduct on-site Visits to Employers
Pasig City (PIA) – Pursuant to Circular No. 017-2015, employers from both the public and private sectors can now expect on-site visits from authorized representatives of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
In the conduct of site visits, PhilHealth personnel are bound to determine the employers’ compliance with the policies and requirements of the state-run health insurance company such as, but not limited to, payment of premium contributions and reportorial requirements.
They may also verify the accuracy of the information submitted by the employers, secure copies of their payroll, and conduct information drives as regards the National Health Insurance Program and other related matters.
PhilHealth issued the said circular based on the implementing rules and regulations of the National Health Insurance Act of 2013 that enumerate among others, the corporation’s visitorial powers and the employers’ obligations.
Authorized PhilHealth personnel are those who have valid IDs and Special Orders that clearly indicate the objective, period, and other pertinent details of their respective site visit.
To avoid fraud and misrepresentation, employers are encouraged to require visiting PhilHealth representatives to present the aforementioned documents prior accommodating them.
President and CEO, Alexander A. Padilla approved PhilHealth Circular No. 017-2015 on July 20, 2015 and shall take effect take effect 15 days after its publication in any newspaper of general circulation. (PHIC/RJB/KCDA/PIA-NCR).
