Make-up Classes Recommended Due to ‘Egay’,’Falcon’—DepEd
Quezon City — The Department of Education (DepEd) reiterated DepEd no. 9,s. allowing schools to conduct make-up classes due to class suspensions last week when tropical storm ‘Egay’ and typhoon ‘Falcon’ entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, bringing heavy rains in the Northern part of the country as well as .in Metro Manila.
“Make-up classes can therefore be conducted to compensate for the school days spent for activities deemed beneficial to the learning-teaching process. Likewise, make-up classes are recommended in lieu of no-school days due to occurrence of natural and manmade calamites,” the Order states.
In addition, the Order states that a mechanism for having make-up classes must be agreed upon by school administration and parents. The regional office may issue a regional school calendar to reflect their respective concerns. (DepEd)
